A surprising finding

My weekly runs take me through some of the places in Bangalore with the biggest houses. My daily walks to and from work and the metro station also take me through streets with very large houses.

The entire universe suddenly seems to change as soon as you enter these streets. There seem to be hardly any riders from Swiggy, Zomata, BigBasket, or any of these delivery platforms on these roads.

Do these people constitute the top 0.1% of India who never orders online?

I was thinking that the prospect of going through the security, gates, and probably dogs to just deliver a package must be so intimidating. Or maybe they have an army of servants who go out and buy stuff, an excellent cook to cook up any kinds of dishes, or always eat out at a fancy restaurant but not order in. Their shopping probably all happens abroad. Maybe 40% off on a local restaurant, or the big discount sales on Myntra, or the Big Shopping Days on Amazon and Flipkart suddenly feel so cheap.

Is this the same with gated communities too?

I move out of these streets and within a minute I see a Domino’s rider and a Swiggy rider in no time. I felt at home now.
